Requirements

  • Follow University of Alberta brand guidelines
  • Visually communicate a feeling of professionalism, credibility, approachability, and inclusivity
  • Visually communicate how it feels to use the service: stress relief when they're brought closer to their academic goals
  • Visually ground the image in academics and ensure a current student could see themselves in it

Goal

  • Bring awareness to the winter academic skills workshops offered by the Academic Success Centre and get students to register via the website

Design Strategy

The main strategy centers around the photograph that I selected. It features a young women looking content, engaged, in control, and productive doing work at a computer. Grounded in the context of academics, this image communicates how it feels to use this service — the feeling one gets when receiving worthwhile information, that relieves stress, and moves them forward.
